The Promise Fund of Florida Presents Perfect Pink Party

(Palm Beach, FL---) Pink, the color of breast and cervical cancer awareness, set the scene at The Promise Fund of Florida’s annual Perfect Pink Party at the Beach Club in Palm Beach on January 12, 2019.  The sold-out Dinner Dance, co-chaired by David Brodsky, Sherry Endelson and Paulette Koch, drew more than 250 supporters and friends.

The evening began with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by dinner in the Ocean Room, awash in a beautiful rosy tone décor. Promise Fund Founder Nancy Brinker welcomed the guests, and along with co-founders Julie Cummings and Laurie Silvers, spoke about how Florida ranks 50 out of 50 states for women’s healthcare, the need for change, and how all funds raised by the Promise Fund will remain in the local community.

Special guests included Dr. Otis Brawley, who spoke about healthcare disparities and iniquities at-risk women face, and the need for change.  Dr. Haywood Brown, an advisor to the Promise Fund’s Navigation program, explained how this innovative patient navigation program is a model that will hopefully be brought to other major cities.  Following was a live auction, conducted by Tom Quick. The highlight of the evening was a special performance by Rachel Bay Jones, the Grammy, Tony and Emmy award-winning singer.

Top donors Michele and Howard Kessler, Linda and Acie Vickers, Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida, Sandra and Gerald Fineberg, Dorothy and Sidney Kohl, and Mike Shevell received special acknowledgments. Mrs. Laura Bush served as Honorary Ambassador of the event.

To date, The Promise Fund of Florida has raised more than $1.7 million and continues its pledge to raise $5 million by 2021 with the goal of reducing early deaths from breast and cervical cancer by helping patients gain access to screenings, treatment and health care.  All funds raised from donations and special events remain in the local community. and
